Eye Spy’d Mr. Crudo’s work at a restaurant down in SoHo this past weekend. I can’t remember the name of the place but I’ll never forget these pieces.

Best Of Show: Summer McClinton at the Harlem Wine Gallery

To say the least, Summer McClinton’s got talent and the Harlem Wine Gallery has a good eye for it. I’m glad I stumbled on to both.

Eye Spy: Art at the Yippie Museum Cafe

Eye Spy’d some very cool artwork when I wandered into the Yippie Museum Cafe the other day. If you’re in the city, stop in for some coffee and culture.

Best Of Show: DEEP SPACE

Joseph Nahmad Contemporary and Nadine Johnson PR took four of the most talented artists (Futura, Phase 2, Matta and Rammellzee) and sent them into “Deep Space.” Here’s some of what happened upon their return. If you’re in New York, make your over to 450 West 14th street and have your “own out of this world” experience. The exhibit is up until December 12th.

Best Of Show: Phillips De Pury’s Contemporary Art Auction

Not by coincidence, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s three pieces in Philips De Pury’s current Contemporary Art Auction are my top picks. Time and time again, being in the presence of his work leaves me forever changed.

In order of appearance:
Humidity, 1982
Self-Portrait, 1982
Radium 23, 1982-1983

I had the pleasure of attending ArtWalks 18th annual live auction yesterday. Kim McCarthy’s 42 x 108 inch Reclining Figure “Long” blew me away. The watercolor on paper masterpiece fetched $17,000 for the Coalition For The Homeless.
