@DearMrDerrick presents: BLK XMAS

In a world where curators are known for their ability to make or break an artist, Derrick B. Harden has proven over and over that, “greatness is in the making – not the breaking.” Last night he presented his latest inspiration, “BLK XMAS” at the Lyons Weir Gallery in Chelsea. With Black-On-Black works by several talented artists including hip hop heavyweight, JERU the Dama and design duo, Dee & Ricky,” Derrick brought Christmas to New York a few months early. And what a gift it was to see!

BLK XMAS: Curated by Derrick B. Harden

Featured Artists: Jeru the Damaja, Dee & Ricky, Laura O’ and the Loop, Monique Romney, Robin’s Jean, Sylva Dean and Me, Mike Lash, Agni Zotis, Bethanne Fiore, Shannon Campbell, Walker Fee, Diego Muniz Vicuna, Roxie Darling & Kaitlyn Stubbs.

@VICE DOT COM LAUNCH w/ @RICKYROZAY

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from years of experience going to VICE parties it’s “don’t follow any rules.” So I didn’t and that got me a great spot right on the side of the stage to see Rick Ross’ monster performance last night at their VICE.com launch. There was way too much going on between the main floor and the dungeon to take pictures or even try to explain because, as always, VICE went above and beyond the call of duty to rock out in style. The night was amazing. All I have to say is, “THANKS VICE!”

John William Codling’s “Me I Play” Exhibit

John William Codling took over the Hamptons this weekend with a presentation that displayed so many artistic styles, I’m at a loss for words trying to describe his talent. What I will say is that he kicks major ass and with a steel foot. Although the theme and title of the show is an homage to Robin Thicke and Jay-Z’s “meiplé” collaboration, Codling reveals to the world that he is, in fact, not playing at all when it comes to his work. If you don’t believe me, take a look at some of the footage I took or ask Pharrell Williams next time you run into him – he was there too.
