POEM: A Candy Coated Conclusion We Came To In A Coma

there are
dim lit corridors
that lead to unfurnished rooms

glasses less than half empty,
truth scattered around
in portions:
the naked ambition
of a mind orphaned

problems left unaddressed
(a nude awakening)

dreams deferred,
hope shattered
and left
like pieces
of
unsolved puzzles
(souls for the taking)

sunsets,
half moons
and daymares

voices that speak
only in whispers
and
fall
on
deaf ears

(there, in the distance)

broken hour glasses
trick candles,
unbreakable distortion mirrors
and a two ring circus act
that performs without an audience

mirages,
almost empty
vending machines
and a partial thirst
for
the
unattainable:

pink clouds,
hail storms,
and
misread pregnancy tests
(the rebirth of indicision)

“got milk” commercials
marketed toward
the lactose
intolerant,
sometimes vegans,
part time Bhuddists
and an orgy
of indifference

the king
of a bastard empire
that crumbled
on command

and
the slavemaster’s
mistress

he waved his hand
over it

like a magician

and
she
evaporates
miseducated
but not indignant

i saw the room shifting
and quivered
when she entered

(singing)
“this will be the day
that i die”
unless i start living

one
moment
at a time
while the clocks ticking
(in
my
favor)

a sweet tooth,
a life-savor
and a candy coated conclusion
we came to in a coma

toast
away the knight
as if the light might
show up

and save the daze

and
save
the
day.

GZA: PAPER PLATES

I’m on GZA mode right now. All hail the mighty WU & and their fierce warrior: GZA.

GZA: Knock Knock (Chapelle Show)

It is no doubt that Dave Chapelle showed true comedic genius during his run with the “Chapelle Show” but he also showed great insight by bringing some of hip hop’s most talented emcees on board to perform.

Here’s one of my favorite’s, the GZA, kicking infinite knowledge as always.

“Extra long verses – hudred bars in length. The percentage of the truth in the rhyme is one tenth.” ~GZA
