A Little St. Ides for Christopher Wallace

It’s extremely hard to choose one song by Cristopher Wallace that would sum up the impact he had on the world of hip-hop. I wouldn’t know where to begin. I couldn’t even think of a freestyle that could explain how he surpassed his peers with the ease of a track star in his prime.

But on the anneversary of his death, I think I’ve found one thing I can feel comfortable posting – his St. Ides commercial debut. I’m posting this to show exactly how talented a thinker he was and how his influence even stretched beyond the rap world and into mainstream marketing (although St. Ides was obviously targeted toward the black, hip hop community – you get my drift) world.

Mr. Wallace, when you died you took a piece of the rap world with you that we’ll never see again. Thank you for the rhymes, the freestyle’s, the interludes and all the moments we’ll continue to hold on to in your memory.

Rest In Peace
